The main reason why I felt so sure in choosing this training was the fact that I’ve done private sessions with Annie. That she’s shown me true healing happens from someplace deep inside, someplace nameless. I knew I wasn’t signing up for a teacher training to be able to get into crazy instagram-worthy inversions or “be super flexible.” I signed up to witness the magic that is as simple as breath. To study the interfaces of the body, the skin of language, its texture, quality, effects. To connect these threads.
Growing up on 2,000 acres of hay fields and forested mountain, you will believe in magic. I spent the first decade of my life making potions out of thistle heads, dragonfly wings, badger bones and handfuls of small river rocks. I could speak to all of the animals, and the wind, and the thunderclouds. With the…
When I am in yoga, and I look around at all the people practicing, my heart is filled with joy! This is one time in life when I feel truly happy. The community that has blossomed at Yoga Union is a phenomenon. This intentional community keeps growing and I believe it is because the intention for a better world is at the core of it. Yoga Union is filled with the energy of everyone holding each other up. Holding up and pushing up. A safe place where your heart can be full and your energy big. On the days when we aren’t feeling so full and big, it is also a safe place for reflection. So, we can also just be!
We’ll meet on the beach, form a circle, set the boombox in the middle, and crank up a strength and mobility-focused workout in the sand. As the orange sun slips into the sea, you’ll be jumping, running, skipping, and playing your way to greater health and vitality. Finish with a swim as the sky fades from orange to red to purple to blue.
You are invited to take on the yoga challenge: twenty yoga classes in thirty days. But beyond these numbers, you are invited to a second challenge. Yoga practice is more than goal attainment, it is a balancing tool, and you are invited to strike a balance between the work and play of your practice.

Our guy in the orange shirt on the rock looking exuberant, lets say, has found the Real You, or at least has prepared for the journey of discovery. In the old times, when…
How do you find your purpose? I have taken the depth of this question for grated for a long time, but I realize that I am deeply curious about this inquiry and exploring it deeply is a pursuit I think the world needs. My work with teenagers is motivated by my desire to make the world…

Each time the yogi gets a taste of union with all things, she is rewired with greater sensitivity to the joys and the suffering of the world, and her compassion grows deeper. The effect over time is cumulative. Each experience is a little more real and results in a greater appreciation for the intricacy and preciousness of life, a desire to live it with higher regard, and a passionate lifestyle better aligned with the understanding that all things are connected.
The night of the event there was electricity in the air, and prana everywhere. It felt like a concert and everyone was excited to be there for such an auspicious occasion. The place was still rough and in the raw, but had been cleaned out and decorated for the night. Over 145 people showed up and the entire place was filled with yoga mats and chatter.
