JJ took his first yoga class in an effort to heal scoliosis and rediscovered the joy of movement. In 2009, after his 200-hour training at YogaWorks in Santa Monica, California, he moved to Portland where he’s been teaching yoga ever since.
JJ was certified in Yoga For Seniors by Kimberly Carson and Carol Krucoff in 2013. He finished the Advanced 300-hour Holistic Yoga Therapeutics™ Training with Annie Adamson in 2017. He is also studying with Annie to become a certified Primal Vinyasa™ teacher.
JJ hopes his students will enjoy learning more about their bodies and find their playful hearts. By moving in new, different, and fun ways, he invites a resurgence of energy and a lightness of spirit.
JJ believes that, by moving one’s body playfully yet intelligently, a person can draw their perception deeper within. Through this inner awareness, we can heal and know not just ourselves, but a beautiful connection to others and to the world we live in.
