Embracing the Flow of Backbends

Take the inspired energy of summer with you into fall with this invigorating backbend workshop. Created from a Prana Flow perspective, this workshop will explore the movements of prana, our vital life energy. In this vinyasa-style practice, we will focus on embodying movements of prana in asanas, particularly backbends. Our flow will include pranayama, heart-opening namaskars, and diverse, vibrant variations on Urdva Dhanurasana, Wheel Pose. We will finish our backbend practice with the rejuvenating and healing Yoga Nidra, the yoga dream state. Be ready to breathe, flow, and open your heart.

Designed for students with a relative level of steadiness and ease in Urdva Dhanurasana.

By divine fate, Amy was blessed to become a student of Annie Adamson’s in 2005 and extends much gratitude for her heartfelt teachings and guidance. Amy completed her first 200 hour teacher training at Yoga Union and considers that a transfomrative time in her life. For the past two years, she has also studied Prana Flow: Energetic Vinyasa with Shiva Rea. She recently finished a 200 hour program with Shiva and will soon be a certified Prana Flow instructor through Yoga Alliance. As a result of her diverse teachers and experiences, Amy believes in many paths to union. In her own pracitice, she enjoys a diversity of asana styles, as well as other yogic gems: mantra, pranayama and meditation. Amy considers herself a perpetual student and extends a multitude of pranams to all of her wonderful teachers: Annie and Todd, the whole Yoga Union family, Shiva, her husband Robin, and her two dogs, Otis and Jed.Early Sign up (by 9/15) and the workshop is only $30.00
